Alexander “Alec” Hall is a member of the BlocSec Inc Advisory Council and is the President of Alliance Cyber, where he delivers tailored, effective, and reliable cybersecurity management systems that fulfill business needs in any industry. Hall, a native of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, founded Alliance Cyber after completing a wildly successful 28-year career in the US Air Force. A life-long cybersecurity practitioner, Alec has applied his rich technical prowess to more than a dozen military assignments, defending command, control, and intelligence networks ranging in size from hundreds of devices on small campuses to tens of thousands of clients across the globe. He served 15 years stationed overseas and deployed seven times to support worldwide contingency operations. His military career also included thirteen commendations for meritorious service and achieving the Air Force’s highest enlisted rank of Chief Master Sergeant.

Hall is perhaps best known for his years directing the Air Force’s information technology workforce. Serving as the Air Force Chief Information Officer at the Pentagon, he transformed the recruiting, retention, training, and education of 18,500 cyber professionals. Selected as the Department of Defense’s representative for IT workforce development, Hall teamed with the Department of Homeland Security, industry partners, and academic leaders to co-author the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NIST Special Publication 800-181). This national-level activism toward improved cyber education earned him an invitation to the White House. He advocated for the “Joining Forces” initiative to secure jobs for America’s IT veterans. Hall was recognized for this exemplary advocacy with the 2015 SANS Institute “Difference Makers” Award for Cybersecurity Innovation.

Since joining the private sector, Hall has continued to contribute to the innovation of the Cybersecurity Industry nationally. Since 2020 he’s participated in Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Accreditation Body (CMMC-AB) working groups helping define training and certification standards for the Defense Industrial Base. Hall leveraged this pioneering effort to create a team of IT experts who provide revenue-generating cybersecurity compliance assistance to defense contractors. In recognition of this disruptive innovation, he was named to the Orlando Business Journal’s 2021 list of Top 50 Industry “Power Players.” His infectious passion and commitment to cybersecurity education have had a multiplying effect on the security and success of the entire community.
